Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water systems, according to city officials.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles struck energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes follow nights of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were anticipating further attacks.
